Where it came from
The Hoshimi no Kairo exhibition was curated to celebrate the five-year anniversary of the mobile role-playing game Fate/Grand Order. Hosted in Tokyo in 2020, the event functioned as an immersive installation designed to guide visitors through the game's complex narrative arcs and expansive cosmology. It served as both a retrospective for long-term players and a sensory exploration of the game's themes of history and humanity.
The visual identity for the exhibition was crafted in collaboration with CloverWorks, the animation studio responsible for the game's high-quality cinematic sequences and adaptations. The design team focused on a 'star-gazing' motif, utilizing projection mapping and large-scale atmospheric lighting to replicate the game's distinct aesthetic. The installation was well-received by the fan community for its attempt to translate digital assets into a physical, architectural space.
