Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 3rei!!

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 3rei!! was produced by the studio SILVER LINK. and aired in 2016 as the fourth season of the anime adaptation of Hiroshi Hiroyama's manga series. The series acts as an alternate-universe spin-off of the broader Fate franchise, shifting the tone from the high-stakes grail wars of the original visual novel to a magical girl sub-genre narrative centered on the character Illyasviel von Einzbern. This installment is noted for its departure from the lighthearted comedy of its predecessors, adopting a significantly darker, more action-oriented aesthetic that mirrors the escalating gravity of the manga's source material.

The production team, directed by Shin Oonuma, sought to translate Hiroyama’s increasingly complex combat choreography and dramatic tension into animation. As the narrative progresses into the 3rei!! arc, the focus shifts heavily toward the mechanics of the parallel world and the introduction of new, formidable antagonists. Critics and fans generally received the season as a successful pivot in scope, praising the studio's ability to maintain the high-quality visual flair established in the earlier seasons while successfully navigating the emotional weight of a more serious, mature storyline.
