The world is dying, no longer able to support life. The Ainsworth family can use the Holy Grail to save humanity, but the price of salvation is sacrifice of the magical girl Miyu — but Miyu’s brother, Shirou, won’t let them have her without a fight. Now it’s up to Illya to step in and find a solution that will save not only Miyu, but the entire world for impending doom. But when the price for the world's salvation is the life of a single, innocent girl, what will Illya choose?

Where it came from
Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya: Licht Nameless Girl was released in 2021 as a cinematic continuation of the long-running magical girl spin-off series based on Hiroshi Hiroyama's manga. Produced by studio SILVER LINK., the film serves as the second theatrical entry in the franchise, adapting the climax of the fourth arc of the original source material. It was crafted to deepen the narrative stakes, pivoting away from the lighter, comedic tone of earlier seasons toward a darker, more dramatic exploration of the series' central themes regarding identity and sacrifice.
The film was directed by Shin Oonuma, a veteran of the franchise who aimed to balance the series' signature high-octane magical combat with the complex emotional arcs of Illyasviel von Einzbern. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the Fate universe for its technical animation quality and its faithful, if intense, adaptation of the manga's emotional turning points. It stands as a significant milestone in the Prisma☆Illya saga, marking a departure into more mature storytelling while maintaining the visual flair established by the series' established aesthetic.
