But ever since her father and sister's demise in the previous battle, she has grown gloomy and unwilling to involve herself in the matters that killed her loved ones. Soon, she finds herself in grave danger at the hands of a knight and ends up summoning her own Servant named Saber. With him by her side, Ayaka ultimately becomes an official participant in the war she initially wanted to avoid so much.

Where it came from
Fate/Prototype originated as a short animation produced by the studio Lerche in 2011, serving as a conceptual revival of Nasu Kinoko's original, discarded drafts for the visual novel Fate/stay night. Conceived as a promotional piece to accompany the release of the Carnival Phantasm special edition, the project reimagined the core premise with gender-swapped leads, notably presenting a female protagonist, Ayaka Sajyou, and a male iteration of Saber based on early sketches from the developer's student years.
The animation was crafted to explore the 'what if' potential of the franchise's foundational concepts, utilizing high-quality character designs by Takashi Takeuchi. Although it was never intended as a full-length series, the project was received with significant enthusiasm by long-time fans of the Type-Moon universe, effectively bridging the gap between the franchise's obscure origins and its subsequent massive multimedia expansion.
