On her day off, Tessa wakes up in her commander chair. After regaining her composure, she notices that her favorite stuffed animal is missing and thus tries to remember what actually transpired the night before. To do so, she will spend time with all the main characters of the Danaan crew, and eventually recalls the events of the previous night.

Where it came from
Released in 2006, this OVA episode serves as a standalone side story to the Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid television series produced by Kyoto Animation. It was created to provide a lighthearted break from the intense narrative stakes of the main season, focusing on the daily domestic lives and interpersonal dynamics of the characters aboard the submarine Tuatha de Danaan rather than high-stakes military combat.
The production maintains the high level of technical detail and character expression that defined Kyoto Animation’s mid-2000s aesthetic. Directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto, the episode emphasizes the comedy inherent in the contrast between Captain Teletha Testarossa’s professional military authority and her awkward attempts at normal civilian experiences, a thematic staple of the franchise’s lighter moments.
