Futabu!!

Futabu!! is an adult-oriented original video animation series produced by Studio 9 Maiami, debuting in 2015. It emerged during a period of sustained growth for independent adult animation studios in Japan, which focused on niche themes and specific character archetypes. The series was developed as a direct-to-video production, a format that allowed for the exploration of experimental animation styles and character designs outside the constraints of traditional television broadcasts.

The character designs and visual aesthetic of the series reflect the house style of Studio 9 Maiami during the mid-2010s, emphasizing distinct, stylized proportions and high-contrast color palettes intended to maximize visual impact on home media displays. As an entry in the long-running tradition of niche adult animation, the series was produced to cater to an established demographic of enthusiasts, receiving recognition primarily within specialized enthusiast communities where the studio's recurring design language is widely identified and collected.
