Where it came from
On the Other Hand is an original video animation released in 2021 by Studio Lerche, serving as a companion piece to the broader universe of the Classroom of the Elite anime adaptation. It was produced during a period of renewed momentum for the franchise, intended to bridge narrative gaps and provide additional character depth for fans of the light novel series written by Shōgo Kinugasa. The project reflects the studio's stylistic consistency in adapting the complex psychological interplay and high-stakes environment central to the series' premise.
The animation was crafted to maintain the visual fidelity and character aesthetic established in the primary television seasons. Lerche focused on translating the intricate character designs and the tension of the school setting into a condensed format, aiming to satisfy the audience's demand for more content between major releases. Upon its debut, the episode was received as a standard extension of the series, valued by enthusiasts for its commitment to the established source material and the familiar interactions between the main cast.
