Within moments of their arrival, though, the Mihama gang are pulled into a manhunt for a SORD deserter, assisted by student Sylvia and Velvet of St. Aile's International School. Tohka's the star of the show this time round, but she's wrestling with her own issues - old memories of her parents, and a promise to a friend that she wasn't able to keep...

Where it came from
Grisaia: Phantom Trigger THE ANIMATION - Stargazer was released in 2020 as a direct sequel to the preceding animated adaptations of the visual novel series created by Frontwing. Produced by Bibury Animation Studios and directed by Tensho, the project was funded largely through a successful crowdfunding campaign, reflecting the dedicated, grassroots support of the franchise's fanbase. The film continues the narrative arc of the Sord school, focusing on the tactical and emotional development of its student operatives.
The visual aesthetic maintains the character designs established by Akio Watanabe, who is widely recognized for his long-standing work on the Grisaia series and the Monogatari franchise. The production aimed to preserve the signature lean, stylized character art and high-stakes military-school atmosphere that defined the source material. Upon its release, the film was received primarily by the existing fan community as a faithful, action-oriented continuation of the established lore and character dynamics.
