Gui Shui Yiyun

Gui Shui Yiyun is an original net animation, or ONA, produced as a collaborative effort within the Chinese animation industry. Released in the early 2020s, the work is part of a growing movement of high-quality digital animation from China, designed to showcase the capabilities of domestic studios in blending traditional aesthetic sensibilities with modern character-driven storytelling.

The visual identity of the project relies on a distinct artistic style that emphasizes fluid movement and atmospheric color palettes, often associated with the contemporary trend of 'guofeng' or national-style animation. It was received by viewers as an experimental entry in the digital space, focusing on character-centric drama rather than the high-octane action common in many commercial series, and it highlights the shift toward platforms like Bilibili as primary hubs for creative, serialized animation.
