Where it came from
Heaven's Design Team, an anime adaptation of the manga series written by Hebi-Zou and Tsuta Suzuki and illustrated by Tarako, was produced by Asahi Production and debuted in early 2021. The narrative serves as a whimsical and educational workplace comedy that explores the complexities of biological engineering by framing the creation of Earth's creatures as an outsourced design project managed by a group of deities who answer to a demanding client.
The series is noted for its ability to balance lighthearted humor with genuine zoological facts, a design choice intended to make evolutionary biology accessible and entertaining for a broad audience. By humanizing the process of natural selection through the lens of corporate office culture, the creators successfully translated the source material's manga aesthetic into a vibrant, informative television format that was well-received for its unique blend of comedy and scientific curiosity.
