Hello Kitty no London ni Orita Uchuujin

Hello Kitty no London ni Orita Uchuujin, or Hello Kitty's Alien Encounter, was produced by Sanrio in 1992 as part of a series of educational and narrative-driven original video animations (OVAs). At this time, Sanrio was expanding the multimedia presence of its flagship character to engage children through short, morality-based stories that were often distributed directly to home video markets or showcased within the Sanrio Puroland theme park environment.

The animation reflects the classic, streamlined aesthetic characteristic of early 1990s Sanrio productions, prioritizing soft colors and simple character designs to remain accessible to a young global audience. While Sanrio's animation department functioned as a collective studio rather than highlighting individual directors, the project was designed to emphasize Hello Kitty's role as a gentle ambassador of kindness, placing her in a whimsical London setting that aligned with the brand's persistent fascination with Western motifs.
