Kitty and Mimmy fall through a hole and end up in a parallel world. It's identical to the one the sisters live in but it's inhabited by humans with transparent wings and pointy ears.
Kitty becomes friends with Emily, a supermodel in this parallel world, and together they try to rescue Mimmy who has disappeared. Their search is hampered by Akuro--a black cat who has a mean streak.

Where it came from
Hello Kitty: Ringo no Mori to Parallel Town was produced by Asahi Production as the third installment in the Hello Kitty Ringo no Mori anime series. Released in 2007, this television series continued Sanrio's long-standing strategy of integrating their marquee characters into educational and moralistic narratives designed for younger audiences. The production leaned into the established character aesthetic of the franchise, focusing on themes of friendship and exploration within a fantasy setting.
The series was part of a broader effort by Sanrio to maintain the cultural relevance of its iconic mascot through consistent visual media output throughout the 2000s. While Asahi Production handled the technical animation, the project adhered strictly to the established Sanrio style guide, ensuring that Kitty White remained consistent with her global branding. It was received primarily by the younger demographic in Japan, serving as a staple of children's programming blocks at the time.
