Where it came from
Hey Yo Yorang is a South Korean animated television series that debuted in 2007, produced by Seoul-based studio Character Plan. It emerged during a period of significant investment in the Korean domestic animation market, designed to appeal to younger audiences through a blend of traditional folklore elements and modern, character-driven storytelling.
The series follows the adventures of a nine-tailed fox, or gumiho, who moves to the human world and encounters various comedic challenges. The character design prioritizes a rounded, approachable aesthetic typical of mid-2000s children's television, emphasizing clear silhouettes and bright, saturated colors to translate well across broadcast media and associated merchandise.
