Honor of Kings: Chapter of Glory

Honor of Kings: Chapter of Glory was released in 2019 by Tencent Penguin Pictures as a narrative expansion for the world of Honor of Kings, China's most prominent mobile MOBA title. Developed as an original net animation, the series was designed to provide a cohesive backstory for the game's diverse cast, transforming individual playable characters into figures with depth and personal stakes. The production sought to elevate the game’s intellectual property by bridging the gap between gameplay and high-quality cinematic storytelling.

The series emphasizes a traditional aesthetic coupled with fluid, modern action sequences, reflecting a concerted effort to capture a wide domestic audience while exploring the cultural motifs inherent in the game's hero archetypes. Upon its release, the project was noted for its polished animation quality and its success in humanizing characters that were previously defined only by their combat mechanics. It remains a key example of the trend in which major game developers leverage animation to deepen engagement with their player bases.
