Remake of old superhero show Hurricane Polymar.
Straight out of Tokyo Plus, a high-tech research center, arrives a new innovation of "Man Machine" system (Polymar) developed by the late Dr. Oregar. Tragically, Dr. Oregar and his efforts are dematerialized as the Catsharks, loyal subjects of Nova, steal this new technology for their own devious plans.
Miraculously chosen as the next Polymar, Takeshi finds himself thrust into the middle of the battleground, as he discovers his new role and purpose - to destroy Nova and his followers. He utilizes his karate skills comprised of spinning kicks and backfists with flight formula to defeat the Catsharks, only to have them re-emerge stronger then ever, led by the shrewd Nina. It is a race against time, for Takeshi to save the Earth.

Where it came from
Hurricane Polymar: Holy Blood was released in 1996 as a two-episode original video animation (OVA) series, serving as a modern reimagining of the original 1974 Tatsunoko Production superhero anime. Developed during the 1990s trend of revisiting classic 1970s properties with darker, more mature visual aesthetics, the project aimed to update the transformation-based action of the original series for a generation accustomed to the grit of late-century cyberpunk and occult-themed animation.
The character designs were handled by Hisashi Kagawa, who adapted the iconic costume of Takeshi Yoroi into a sharper, more angular silhouette consistent with the aesthetic standards of the mid-90s anime industry. While the series was designed to evoke nostalgia among fans of the original Tatsunoko catalog, it was received as a stylistic departure that prioritized high-contrast lighting and kinetic action sequences over the episodic, campier tone of its predecessor.
