Hurricane Live! 2033

Hurricane Live! 2033 was produced by AIC in 1990 as a special musical video project, serving as an expansion of the Bubblegum Crisis universe. The release functions primarily as a concept album visualizer, featuring the voice actresses from the main series performing as the fictional idol character Priss and the Replicants. It reflects the peak of the 1980s and early 1990s Japanese animation trend where music videos were crafted to bridge the gap between high-fidelity original soundtracks and limited animation productions.

The visual design draws heavily from the cyberpunk aesthetic established by Kenichi Sonoda in the main Bubblegum Crisis series. While the production is less narrative-driven than the original OVAs, it was created to capitalize on the immense popularity of the characters and the synth-pop soundtrack. It was received by fans as a celebratory artifact of the franchise, showcasing the experimental crossover between music video production and the mechanical design standards for which AIC was known during that era.
