Huyao Xiao Hongniang: Jinghua Yuan

Huyao Xiao Hongniang, or Fox Spirit Matchmaker, began as a web manhua by Xiao Xin in 2012 before being adapted into a long-running ONA series by Tencent Animation & Comics. The series draws heavily from Chinese folklore and mythology, centering on the concept of reincarnation and the delicate work of fox spirits who act as matchmakers for humans and spirits who wish to rekindle their love in subsequent lives.

The Jinghua Yuan arc represents a significant narrative milestone in the franchise's evolution. Produced with the high aesthetic standards characteristic of Tencent's major animation projects, the series was designed to blend traditional xianxia motifs with modern romantic storytelling tropes. It received widespread acclaim in the Chinese animation industry for its emotional depth and vibrant, detailed character designs, which helped solidify the series as one of the most prominent pillars of contemporary Chinese domestic animation.
