Where it came from
Ima kara Atashi... was released in 2016 by the studio Mary Jane, a production house recognized for its contributions to the adult animation market. The OVA emerged during a period when independent studios were increasingly utilizing digital animation techniques to create distinct, character-focused shorts that targeted niche audiences within the anime community.
The production sought to balance a direct narrative style with the specific aesthetic standards typical of the studio's catalog at the time. By focusing on intimate character dynamics and a minimalist visual approach, the design team aimed to provide a concise viewing experience that resonated with viewers interested in character-driven storytelling, ultimately securing its place within the studio’s broader portfolio of mid-2010s releases.
