Indian Summer

Indian Summer was produced by Studio Daume and released in 2007 as a two-part original video animation. It emerged during a period when the studio was building a reputation for character-driven narratives, often adapting light novel or manga source material to fit a concise, serialized format. The project was intended to capture a contemplative, atmospheric tone, focusing on intimate interpersonal dynamics rather than the high-octane action sequences that dominated much of the animation landscape at the time.

The visual direction and character design aimed for a clean, understated aesthetic that complemented the series' grounded emotional core. This approach was characteristic of the era's mid-budget animation efforts, which sought to cultivate a dedicated niche audience through strong artistic consistency. Upon its release, the work was received as a modest but earnest entry in the studio’s catalog, appreciated primarily for its tonal cohesion and the steady hand of its animation team.
