Where it came from
Irodorimidori originated as a multimedia music project launched by SEGA in 2015, centered on a fictional band of students at the Sakuragaoka Academy who play arcade rhythm games. The project was designed to promote SEGA’s popular Chunithm arcade game through character-driven tracks, music videos, and voice dramas, creating a dedicated following through cross-platform engagement.
The 2022 television series adaptation served as a culmination of the project's long-running narrative development, focusing on the character growth and musical aspirations of the ensemble cast. Produced to appeal to the existing fan base of the arcade rhythm games, the show maintains the energetic, bright aesthetic established by the original character illustrations and aims to capture the lighthearted, collaborative spirit inherent in the brand's music-focused world.
