Living above the legendary dungeons of Orario ought to be enough danger for anyone, and in his short time as a member of the goddess Hestia's familia, Bell Cranel has experienced more perils and pitfalls than most. So, when Bell unexpectedly wins a free trip, is it too much to hope that he might have actually won a real vacation? Of course it is! Inexplicably chosen as the champion of Hestia's friend, the goddess Artemis, Bell quickly finds himself up to his neck in ruins and monsters as yet another epic quest begins. And where Bell goes, can the ever-jealous Hestia be far behind?

Where it came from
Arrow of the Orion was released in 2019 as the first feature-length film adaptation of the DanMachi franchise, produced by the studio J.C.Staff. The project was created to expand the narrative scope of the original light novel series written by Fujino Omori, with the author himself penning the film's original screenplay. The story functions as a side-story that bridges the world-building of the main anime seasons while introducing a self-contained narrative arc involving the goddess Artemis.
The film's visual identity was guided by director Katsushi Sakurabi, who aimed to elevate the series' aesthetic for a theatrical release, focusing on cinematic lighting and expansive background art that depicted regions outside the central city of Orario. Upon its release, the film was received as a technically polished addition to the series, praised for its emotional weight and for providing a deeper look at the mythological inspirations behind the DanMachi universe.
