Where it came from
Ixion Saga DT was produced by Brain's Base and released in 2012 as an adaptation of the online action game Ixion Saga developed by Capcom. The series emerged during a period of experimentation with the isekai genre, aiming to subvert common tropes by blending high-fantasy adventure with a heavy dose of absurdist, meta-humor and irreverent character dynamics that distanced it from more serious entries in the genre.
The animation and character design were crafted to support the show's chaotic comedic tone, often utilizing exaggerated expressions and rapid shifts in visual style to mirror the protagonists' unpredictable journey. While the series was received as a niche experiment in comedy rather than a standard fantasy epic, it remains noted by fans of the era for its unconventional approach to light novel and game-based adaptations.
