This film is based on a very simple idea: the increasingly varied the sounds, the greater is the number of creatures... My intention in this film was to fill the screen with chaotic movements.

Where it came from
Released in 1996, Space Jam stands as a hallmark of 1990s pop culture, blending live-action footage with traditional animation to feature Michael Jordan alongside the Looney Tunes. Developed by Warner Bros. Feature Animation, the project was conceived as a vehicle to capitalize on Jordan's immense global fame and the enduring popularity of characters like Bugs Bunny, following a series of successful Nike commercials that paired the two.
The film was directed by Joe Pytka, who brought significant experience from his background in directing high-profile television commercials. While the visual aesthetic aimed for a groundbreaking fusion of media, the critical reception at the time was mixed, with reviewers praising the technical ambition but remaining divided on the narrative. Despite this, it became a massive commercial success and a defining nostalgic touchstone for the decade.
