The Juuza. That is the name given to those of the 13th Zodiac: the cat people. Seen as a vulgar and contemptuous race, they live a life of seclusion away from human eyes. However, as the end of the Han Dynasty draws near, the rise of the Yellow Scarves has thrown the land of the Three Kingdoms into turmoil. As armies converge, a young Juuza woman named Kan'u and her village are forced out of their peaceful lives as Sousou and his punitive force press their way into the village.

Where it came from
Juuza Engi: Engetsu Sangokuden - Gaiden Youzhou Genya was released in 2014 as an original video animation produced by the studio Anpro. It serves as a side story to the visual novel series Juuza Engi, which reimagines the Chinese classic Romance of the Three Kingdoms through an otome lens, centering on a protagonist named Kanu who navigates a world of militaristic conflict and political intrigue.
The production sought to expand the lore of the game's setting, focusing on the character development of the supporting cast within the established fantasy-history framework. As part of a niche genre of video game adaptations, the OVA was primarily intended for the existing fan base of the visual novel, providing additional narrative texture to the character relationships that were central to the original game's reception.
