KAIJU GIRL CARAMELISE

Kaiju Girl Caramelise is a television anime series produced by the studio LIDENFILMS, slated for release in 2026. The project is an adaptation of the manga series by Spica Aoki, which centers on Kuroe Akaishi, a shy high school student who possesses the ability to transform into a kaiju when triggered by strong emotions. The adaptation seeks to translate the source material's blend of monstrous spectacle and adolescent romantic comedy into an animated format, leaning into the stylistic quirks that defined the original print run.

The production by LIDENFILMS follows the studio's broader portfolio of adapting diverse light novel and manga properties for contemporary television audiences. By focusing on the juxtaposition between the protagonist's internal emotional struggles and the external, destructive manifestation of her giant monster form, the series aims to provide a fresh perspective on both the kaiju genre and the coming-of-age narrative. The creative direction emphasizes character-driven storytelling, utilizing the scale of the kaiju elements to serve as a metaphor for the anxieties inherent in teenage social life.
