Nanami Momozono, current land god of Mikage Shrine, and her fox familiar Tomoe have faced many obstacles during their time together, but none so challenging as the one posed by the wealth god Ookuninushi—if Tomoe's wish to be human is granted, he must learn to live as one, and Nanami will have to return to being a human.
As the couple look to the future and reflect on their former adventures, Nanami tries to figure out their new living situation as her high school graduation approaches. But no matter the path they choose to walk, Tomoe and Nanami's love will endure.

Where it came from
Kamisama, Shiawase ni Naru serves as the final animated chapter for the Kamisama Hajimemashita series, released as a series of OVAs in 2016. Produced by TMS Entertainment, these episodes were created to adapt the final story arcs of Julietta Suzuki's original manga that remained unaddressed following the conclusion of the second television season. The production aimed to provide closure for fans by concluding the romantic journey between Nanami Momozono and the fox deity Tomoe, effectively bringing the overarching narrative to a definitive resolution.
The aesthetic direction of these OVAs maintains the lighthearted, shōjo-influenced visual style established by the previous seasons, characterized by clean lines and expressive character designs that reflect the fantasy-romance genre of the mid-2010s. The release was well-received by the existing fanbase, as it successfully captured the sentimental tone of the manga's finale. By focusing on the emotional growth of the protagonists, the project solidified the anime's reputation as a staple of supernatural shōjo storytelling.
