Kanojo wa Utau, Dakara Boku wa.

Kanojo wa Utau, Dakara Boku wa is a 2020 ONA produced by Avex Entertainment as part of a multimedia initiative centered on music and narrative storytelling. It was created to bridge the gap between traditional animation and digital-first content, leveraging the studio's extensive background in music production to emphasize the rhythmic and emotional resonance of its characters' performances. The production was intended to showcase a blend of character-driven drama and high-fidelity sound design, aligning with the trends of the early 2020s where streaming-first projects became a primary vehicle for experimental visual media.

The design and artistic direction were focused on clean, minimalist aesthetics to allow the musical sequences to serve as the visual centerpiece. By prioritizing the synchronization between the animation and the soundtrack, the creators aimed to evoke a specific melancholic, reflective mood characteristic of modern Japanese youth-oriented drama. Upon its release, the project was noted by followers of the medium for its polished technical execution and its tight integration with the Avex musical catalog, solidifying its place as a niche but well-regarded experiment in the studio's portfolio.
