Where it came from
Kaze wo Tsugumono, released in 2027, marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Live2D Creative Studio, transitioning the company from a provider of animation technology to a full-scale production house. The series was conceptualized to showcase the potential of real-time, interactive-style character rendering in a traditional television format, aiming to bridge the gap between high-fidelity gaming visuals and narrative-driven anime storytelling.
The visual design and direction were heavily influenced by the studio’s push for fluid, organic character movement that deviates from standard keyframe limitations. Critics and viewers received the series as a technical curiosity, often noting the distinctive, uncanny smoothness of the animation, which challenged traditional aesthetic expectations for long-form television series in the late 2020s.
