Where it came from
Kettobashita Moufu, which translates to 'The Blanket I Kicked Off,' is a prominent title within the expansive discography of the Japanese rock band Spitz. Released as part of their 1994 studio album 'Hachimitsu,' the track exemplifies the band's signature blend of surreal, melancholic lyricism and jangle pop sensibilities that defined the 1990s Japanese alternative music scene.
The song was composed by the band's frontman, Masamune Kusano, whose songwriting approach often juxtaposes childhood innocence with darker, more mature undertones. The production reflects the band's shift toward a more polished and introspective sound during this era, a transition that solidified their critical acclaim and helped cement their enduring status as one of Japan's most influential musical acts.
