Where it came from
Released in October 2015, Kimi no Kokoro wa Kagayaiteru kai? serves as the debut single for Aqours, the central idol group of the Love Live! Sunshine!! project. The song was created to establish the identity of this new generation within the broader Love Live! multimedia franchise, aiming to capture the youthful enthusiasm and coastal aesthetic of the series' setting in Uchiura, Shizuoka.
The production featured the voices of the newly selected cast members and was designed to introduce the group's dynamic through high-energy pop composition and an accompanying animated music video. Upon release, the single was well-received by fans of the franchise, helping to solidify the commercial viability of the Sunshine!! project and paving the way for its subsequent television anime adaptation.
