Chen Mo didn't know that during several hundred years of sleeping in the dormancy chamber, humans had established an interstellar federation, and the Wild Land had become an abyss. Why am I still alive? ——With countless questions, Chen Mo repaired four robot assistants with different personalities and different functions. Where it came from
Knights on Debris, or Qishi Huichu, emerged as part of Tencent Penguin Pictures' strategic expansion into high-end original animation for the Chinese streaming market. The production was developed to bridge the gap between traditional wuxia storytelling and the modern, fast-paced aesthetic of international internet animation, reflecting a broader industry pivot toward creating culturally specific intellectual property with high production values.
The visual identity of the series was crafted to emphasize technical precision, utilizing advanced 3D modeling techniques that move away from stylized cel-shading toward a more cinematic, textured realism. Designers aimed to evoke a sense of architectural decay and martial gravity, which was generally well-received by domestic audiences for its technical ambition, though critics noted the narrative complexity at times struggled to balance the scale of its world-building with its character-driven focus.
