Where it came from
Konglong Baobei: Longshen Yongshi, known internationally as DinoCore, is a South Korean animated series produced by Tuba Entertainment that first premiered in 2016. The series was designed to revitalize the mecha and dinosaur genre for younger audiences by blending high-octane transformation sequences with character-driven narratives centered on teamwork and courage, drawing inspiration from established tokusatsu traditions while utilizing modern 3D computer animation.
The visual design of the characters and their transformation mechanisms were created with a strong focus on toy integration, a common strategy in the regional market to ensure that the on-screen aesthetics could be replicated in physical merchandise. Upon its release, the series received a positive reception from its target demographic, eventually expanding into multiple seasons and gaining a significant foothold in international markets, particularly across Asia.
