Where it came from
Kumo no Ue wa Itsumo, Hare was produced in 2021 as a collaborative animation project originating from Shobi University. As an original net animation, it served as a platform for emerging talent within the institution to showcase technical proficiency in storytelling and character animation. The work reflects a contemporary academic approach to digital media, focusing on atmospheric narrative building and visual cohesion within a short-form episodic or standalone structure.
The creative direction of the project emphasizes the intersection of collegiate artistic experimentation and professional digital production standards. By utilizing the resources provided by the university's media department, the creators aimed to capture a specific emotive tone often associated with independent Japanese animation. While it remains a niche entry in the landscape of student-led ONA productions, it is recognized for its commitment to aesthetic detail and the collaborative efforts of the faculty and student body involved in its development.
