Kurae! Telepathy

Kurae! Telepathy is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Takuya Mitsuda, originally serialized in the late 1990s. The work belongs to a period where Mitsuda was exploring distinct genre blends, focusing on the intersection of school-life narratives and supernatural psychological elements. It reflects the aesthetic sensibilities of seinen and shonen manga from that era, characterized by expressive character designs and a focus on internal tension.

The series centers on a protagonist gifted or burdened with telepathic abilities, using the conceit to explore themes of social isolation and interpersonal trust. Like much of Mitsuda’s early career work, it served as a foundational project that preceded his later, more widespread success in sports manga. While it maintains a dedicated cult following among collectors of late 90s niche titles, it remains a rare piece of Japanese print history that offers a glimpse into the developmental creative style of its author.
