Following the line of the precedent OVAs (of the same name) This anime goes around the normal lifes of some elementary school (5th grade, 2nd class room) kids and their adventures, while turning to teens. Their games, stupid jokes, and the misunderstadings around their premature attraction to the opposite sex. Ryota Satou is the main character here, but his friends are almost as important as him since the school wouldn't be the same without them, specialy the girls who the majority of time appear to be mature by their ages but in the ends they are as childish and even more "dangerous" than the boys.

Where it came from
Kyou no Go no Ni, or Today in Class 5-2, was adapted into a television anime series by studio Xebec in 2008. The source material is a manga series by Takuya Kohiruimaki, which humorously depicts the daily lives and misadventures of a group of fifth-grade students. This 2008 iteration served as a complete reimagining following an earlier OVA series, aiming to capture the series' signature blend of innocent school life and mild, slapstick-driven situational comedy.
The 2008 production was directed by Tsuyoshi Nagasawa, who focused on a bright, character-driven aesthetic that remained faithful to the series' lighthearted tone. Xebec utilized a clean, modern animation style typical of late 2000s comedy series to emphasize the youthful energy of the cast. Upon release, it was well-received by fans of the school-life genre for its nostalgic portrayal of childhood friendships and its straightforward, episodic humor.
