Lee's Detective Agency

Lee's Detective Agency is a web-based animated short series produced by Hypergryph as part of the promotional media for their tactical role-playing game, Arknights. Released to expand upon the world-building of the Lungmen setting, the series follows the daily operations and chaotic antics of the titular courier and detective service. It serves as a lighthearted counterpoint to the typically grim narrative tone of the primary game, focusing on character-driven comedy and world-building.

The animation design reflects the aesthetic established in the game, utilizing a sleek, urban-fantasy style that highlights the diverse character designs of the agency staff. The production aimed to provide fans with a deeper look at the interpersonal dynamics between characters like Lee, Aak, and Hung outside of combat scenarios. Upon its release, the series was well-received by the player community for its high production values and its ability to humanize key figures who previously appeared only as playable units in the mobile application.
