LET'S JUST CRASH

Let's Just Crash was produced by the Tokyo-based studio Kanaban Graphics, a boutique animation house recognized for its distinctive approach to 3D character design and rhythmic, silent storytelling. The short film was released during the mid-2000s, a period when the studio was gaining significant international attention for its ability to blend minimalist aesthetic choices with high-energy, slapstick-infused animation sequences.

The film showcases Kanaban Graphics' signature style, defined by polished, vinyl-toy-like character models and vibrant, uncluttered color palettes. It was crafted as a demonstration of their technical proficiency in digital animation, focusing on kinetic movement and visual timing rather than dialogue. The work was well-received in the animation festival circuit and served as a hallmark example of the 'net-generation' of short-form digital storytelling emerging from Japan at the time.
