Where it came from
Released in 2013 by Kyoto Animation, this original video animation serves as a comedic extension to the first season of the Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions series. It was produced as a special follow-up, designed to bridge the narrative gap between the initial season and its successors by focusing on the lighthearted, often chaotic daily life of Rikka Takanashi and Yuta Togashi during the Christmas season.
The production maintains the high visual standard associated with director Tatsuya Ishihara and the studio's signature character-driven style. Known for its fluid animation and expressive slapstick sequences, the episode was received by fans as a quintessential example of the series' blend of hyper-dramatic fantasy elements set against mundane high school reality, effectively capturing the whimsical essence of the franchise's debut.
