Where it came from
Macross Frontier MUSIC CLIP Shuu: Nyankuri, released in 2008, serves as a comprehensive visual compilation of the musical sequences from the Macross Frontier television series. Produced by studio Satelight, the collection was conceived to showcase the series' sophisticated integration of computer-generated imagery with traditional animation techniques, highlighting the pivotal role music plays in the Macross narrative tradition.
The visual presentation was overseen by series director Shoji Kawamori and key animation staff at Satelight, who sought to curate a high-definition experience that captured the energetic, multi-layered aesthetic defining the frontier colony setting. The collection received favorable attention from fans for its polished technical quality and for documenting the central vocal performances that contributed to the series' enduring cultural impact within the mecha and anime genres.
