Where it came from
The Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: 10th Shuunen Kinen PV was released in 2021 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Tsutomu Sato's light novel series. Produced by studio 8-bit, which took over the animation duties for the series starting with the second season, the promotional video serves as a high-fidelity tribute to the franchise's enduring popularity and its transition from a web novel to a global multimedia success.
The design of the video focuses on a visual retrospective, utilizing polished animation sequences that highlight the growth of the protagonists, Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba. The creative direction aimed to blend iconic moments from the original source material with a modern aesthetic, reflecting the studio's refined visual style. It was received by the fan base as a commemorative milestone that bridges the gap between the original light novel serialization and the ongoing expansion of the anime adaptation.
