Where it came from
Major: World Series consists of a two-episode original video animation (OVA) series released in 2012, serving as an epilogue to the long-running Major baseball anime franchise. Produced by SynergySP, these episodes bridge the conclusion of the television series with the events of the Major: World Series manga arc, focusing on Goro Shigeno's professional career in the American Major League Baseball circuit.
The production sought to provide a definitive animated conclusion to Takuya Mitsuda's original story, adapting key matches that had previously remained unanimated. Under the direction of the studio's established team, the animation maintained the series' focus on high-stakes sports drama and character growth, meeting the expectations of a dedicated fanbase that had followed the protagonist's journey from childhood through his transition into a professional athlete.
