Where it came from
Mamekichi Mameko NEET no Nichijou is a comedic anime series adapted from the popular autobiographical blog manga by Mameko Mamekichi. The series chronicles the eccentric daily life of the author and her interactions with her pets, particularly her dogs Komachi and Tachi and her cats. Following the success of the first season, the second season was commissioned to continue the lighthearted, observational storytelling that defines the franchise.
Produced by Tezuka Productions, the animation adapts the author's simplistic and distinctively expressive art style into a short-form format. The studio sought to capture the quirky, relatable energy of the source material through a vibrant and comedic aesthetic. Upon its release in 2023, the series maintained its popularity among domestic audiences who appreciate its low-stakes, humorous portrayal of modern NEET lifestyle and domestic companionship.
