MAPPA 15th Anniversary Movie

The MAPPA 15th Anniversary Movie was produced in 2026 to celebrate the studio's decade-and-a-half milestone in the animation industry. Established in 2011 by Masao Maruyama, MAPPA rapidly ascended from a boutique studio to an industry titan known for high-octane visual spectacles and ambitious adaptations of complex source material. This project was conceived as a commemorative retrospective, designed to showcase the technical evolution and stylistic versatility that defined the studio's portfolio.

The film's visual identity was spearheaded by the studio's core creative team, aiming to synthesize the disparate aesthetics of their most acclaimed works—ranging from the gritty intensity of 'Chainsaw Man' to the fluid character dynamics of 'Yuri on Ice'—into a cohesive narrative. By leaning heavily into their signature blend of traditional hand-drawn animation and integrated digital compositing, the design sought to honor the studio's legacy while demonstrating its current production capabilities. The film was received by the animation community as a definitive snapshot of modern studio prestige.
