Matsuken Anime: Kore Seibaishite mo Ii desu ka?

Matsuken Anime: Kore Seibaishite mo Ii desu ka? emerged in 2026 as a unique promotional production commissioned by the Japanese advertising agency Hakuhodo. Designed as a short-form original net animation, the project was created to leverage the enduring cultural footprint of the Matsuken Samba phenomenon, blending stylized animation with the lighthearted, celebratory aesthetic that defined the original performance art.

The creative direction focused on translating the high-energy, disco-inflected visual language of Matsuken into a narrative format. By centering the story around themes of lighthearted justice and performative flair, the studio aimed to capture both nostalgic fans and a contemporary streaming audience. Upon its release, the project was noted for its integration of brand identity into an entertaining medium, serving as a distinct example of corporate-led digital storytelling.
