Where it came from
May I Ask for One Final Thing? is a 2025 original net animation produced by the animation studio Aniplex. It serves as an adaptation of the popular light novel series, which centers on the narrative of a disgraced noblewoman navigating themes of justice and retribution in a fantasy court setting. The production was greenlit to capitalize on the rising interest in the villainess subgenre, which focuses on female protagonists reclaiming agency after being unjustly cast aside by their social circles.
The character design and visual direction for the ONA were crafted to emphasize a sense of regal elegance and sharp, decisive action, contrasting the protagonist's refined background with her bold and unconventional tactics. Upon its announcement and release, the project was received as a stylish entry within its niche, drawing praise for its polished animation quality and its faithful representation of the source material's distinct, confrontational tone.
