Meitantei Conan: Secret Amuro Call

Meitantei Conan: Secret Amuro Call was produced by TMS Entertainment in 2018 as a promotional special tied to the theatrical release of the twenty-second franchise film, Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer. The short was designed to capitalize on the immense popularity of the character Toru Amuro, who served as the central antagonist and pivot point for the film's narrative. By leveraging the interactive voice-call format, the studio aimed to provide a unique fan experience that allowed viewers to simulate a direct conversation with the enigmatic character, further deepening engagement with his complex triple-agent identity.

The production reflects the franchise's ongoing strategy of utilizing multimedia tie-ins to maintain momentum for its annual film entries. The artistic direction remains consistent with the established aesthetic of the long-running series, prioritizing the character's mysterious demeanor and sharp visual design. Upon release, the special was well-received by the dedicated fan base, serving as a successful marketing tool that reinforced the cultural phenomenon surrounding the 'Amuro Fever' that dominated the Japanese box office that year.
