Where it came from
MILGRAM is a viewer-participatory psychological music project launched in 2020 by the creative studio OTOIRO, featuring music production by DECO*27 and character design by illustrator akka. The project is centered on a mysterious prison facility where ten inmates have committed various crimes, and the audience acts as the 'jailer' tasked with judging their guilt or innocence based on music videos and audio dramas.
The design philosophy of the project emphasizes ambiguity and complex character psychology, with visual elements designed to shift perceptions as the narrative unfolds. Upon its release, it gained significant attention for its interactive premise, which forces the audience to weigh moral gray areas against the sympathetic portrayals of the characters, resulting in a community-driven discourse that directly influences the production's evolving storyline.
