Where it came from
MILGRAM The Second Trial serves as the second major conceptual stage in a multi-part multimedia project produced by OTOIRO and created by DECO*27 and Takuya Yamanaka. Released in the early 2020s, the project operates as a listener-participation psychological mystery, where the audience acts as the prison guard to judge the sins of ten inmates. This specific installment continues the narrative arc where the primary objective remains the exploration of morality, guilt, and the subjective nature of truth through song and character-driven drama.
The aesthetic and musical direction of the series is heavily influenced by the distinct Vocaloid-adjacent style of DECO*27, characterized by sharp, rhythmic compositions and dark, introspective lyrical themes. The design and character illustrations are intended to provide a stark, clinical atmosphere that contrasts with the emotional turbulence of the inmates' backstories. Upon its release, the project gained significant traction within niche online communities, praised for its unique interactive format that invites fans to engage in intense debate and analysis of the provided lore and music videos.
