Mirai Shounen Conan: Tokubetsu-hen - Kyodaiki Gigant no Fukkatsu

Mirai Shounen Conan: Tokubetsu-hen - Kyodaiki Gigant no Fukkatsu, or Future Boy Conan: Special Edition - The Resurrection of the Giant Gigant, was released in 1984 as a compilation film based on the 1978 television series directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Produced by Nippon Animation, the feature was intended to distill the narrative arc surrounding the legendary Gigant weapon into a self-contained cinematic experience for fans who wished to revisit the pivotal conclusion of the series.

The animation and character designs draw heavily from the aesthetic established by Miyazaki in the original series, emphasizing expressive, fluid movement and environmental storytelling that characterizes his early work. While the film functioned largely as a recap, it is notable for its role in the long-term preservation of the series' legacy, serving as a gateway for viewers to experience Miyazaki's definitive vision of post-apocalyptic survival before his later international acclaim.
