Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Revealed Chronicle

Released in 2022 by Sunrise, Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Revealed Chronicle serves as a short-form ONA (Original Net Animation) series designed to bridge narrative gaps within the Mobile Suit Gundam 00 timeline. The project was conceived as part of the franchise's ongoing efforts to revitalize interest in its older series by providing supplemental lore, specifically focusing on the events occurring between the two seasons of the original television anime and the subsequent feature film. It functions as a meta-textual exploration, utilizing the concept of recovered data archives to justify the appearance of previously unseen mobile suit variants.

The production leans heavily on the refined mechanical aesthetics established by Kanetake Ebikawa and Takayuki Yanase, who revisited their original designs to incorporate new technological developments within the show's fictional setting. By focusing on technical specifications and minor historical vignettes, the series targets long-term enthusiasts of the 00 universe. Critics and viewers received the project as a niche but effective piece of fan service, appreciating its ability to deepen the world-building of the Celestial Being organization without the narrative burden of a full-length series.
